  • Energy Efficiency

    Optimization of energy usage

  • Resources & Waste

    Promotion of resource circulation

Initiatives Toward Carbon Neutrality

Dai-ichi Kiden is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from its business activities in order to achieve carbon neutrality.

Targets

Our goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from business activities by 46% by 2030 compared to fiscal year 2022 levels.

Multi-Faceted Initiatives

To achieve carbon neutrality, we are promoting initiatives from the following three perspectives.

  • Technology

We improve energy efficiency in our operations by designing products with lower power consumption and enhancing equipment performance.

  • Power Generation

We promote the introduction of solar power generation at our facilities and the use of carbon-free electricity.

  • Work Practices

We reduce energy consumption by improving operational efficiency through initiatives such as paperless processes and the use of web-based meetings.

Energy-Saving & Efficiency Measures

Energy-Efficient Office Equipment

We configure energy-saving settings for office devices such as PCs and printers to reduce power consumption during idle times.

Example: 95% of lighting converted to LED

Reducing HVAC Power through Roof Insulation Improvements

We enhance air conditioning and heating efficiency by using proper temperature settings, utilizing timer functions, and improving insulation materials.

Example: Optimal temperature settings – Summer 28°C / Winter 20°C

Utilization of Natural Light

We maximize the use of daylight by optimizing building layout and window placement, reducing the need for artificial lighting.

Example: 30% reduction in daytime lighting usage

Digitization & Paperless Initiatives

We reduce paper usage and minimize resource waste by digitizing documents and utilizing cloud services.

Example: 20% reduction in paper usage compared to last year

Raising Employee Awareness

We educate employees on the importance of energy conservation and the impact of their actions, promoting initiatives to prevent energy waste.

Example: Monthly recommendations for improvements from the Safety & Health Committee
